I live in California, I'm 23 years old and I've created this blog to track my SARPE, braces and double jaw surgery. I hope to be a source for those who may be going through the process too. It can be stressful and I'm sure people who will be going through this have the same questions that I had. Please feel free to comment and ask questions! :)

Putty in my mouth
I got my records done on 01/12/2017. If you aren't familiar with records, let me explain. First they used this device that had a camera at the end of it. It took pictures of my teeth, and pallet. The next thing that they did was put putty in my mouth. The assistant asked me what flavor I would like. I picked fruit punch. She started making the putty stuff and I swear it looked as if she were taking an electric mixer to some cake mix, very thick cake mix. Then she got some on her gloves slapped some on the back of my front teeth, and then put a mouth guard looking thing in my mouth with the putty on it and I had to bite all the way down. It had to dry, and then she took it out, felt like she was gonna rip my teeth out, didn't hurt, just felt weird! Anyways, she had to do that process four times in a row so that both my surgeon and my ortho can have the same records. These records are for when I see the surgeon for my second appointment. With these records he will be able to see how much he will be moving my upper and lower jaw, and also see if SARPE will be a necessary surgery beforehand. He told me that if my pallet doesn't have to be widened more than 4mm then he could widen it as he's doing my double jaw surgery. I hope that's the case! I also might have to get my wisdom teeth taken out. I really hope I don't have to. There's just too much going on in this mouth of mine. One less procedure would be AWESOME! Welp, next appointment is on February,1 2017. I hope Dr. Bell can give me a diagnoses then and also the green light to get my braces on.
