I live in California, I'm 23 years old and I've created this blog to track my SARPE, braces and double jaw surgery. I hope to be a source for those who may be going through the process too. It can be stressful and I'm sure people who will be going through this have the same questions that I had. Please feel free to comment and ask questions! :)

Time off
I was called a couple of days ago and was told I would be off for three weeks total. My surgery is on April 6th and I can return to work on April 26th. That is a bit longer than I expected, but I guess its best that I heal completely before returning. I work at the front desk for Human Resources, I talk to people all day long, so maybe its best. All I know is that it's really gonna suck when I have to come back to work with that huge gap AND the expander! ugh! I hope I can speak clearly. That's all the updates I have for now.

I'm 25 and was told three weeks recovery, but ended up only needing 1 and 1/2 weeks. Talking will be bothersome but do-able. This process was soooo much easier then I thought, you'll do great! I'm 6 months post Sarpe and feeling good!
ReplyDeleteHi! Thanks for the comment! :)
ReplyDeleteWow it's so nice to hear that the process was easier than you thought it would be. I'm really hoping the same for myself! So how much did your pallet need to be widened? Did you have a huge gap? lol Do you have any tips on recovery for me? Anything helps :)
I think I had about 7mm, the gab was there but not as huge as I've seen online. Use wax to fill the gap, a lot of ppl cannot tell, I promise you!! And don't eat the bland easy to eat food like jello, pudding, ect. Get yummy fatty pastas and just blend it down, it's so much more filling! Even at this point my teeth are still settling everyday but each passing day I've been so happy I put myself through this process. Hope recovery is going well. Catch up on sleep, shows and good soft foods. Positive vibes your way!
